Yamaha R1 is super bike or a sport bike that was first debuted in 1998 and is still into production. The latest model for Yamaha R1 rolled out in 2009.
Originally Yamaha YZF-R1 was manufactures with a redesigned Genesis engine. The engine now was compacted and total engine length was now shorter. Compacted engine gave shorter wheelbase which again resulted in quicker handling with center of gravity optimized.
Initially R1 was only offered in blue or red color.
The current model employees cross plane crankshaft that is brought to Yamaha R1 direct from the tracks. Such type of crankshaft is used in Yamaha MotoGP bikes.
With new features also comes enhanced midrange that makes feel direct connection between the rear rubber and the throttle.
